ROOTED IN CHRIST

Passage: 'Therefore, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and firm in the faith just as you were taught, overflowing with thankfulness.' โ€“ Colossians 2:6-7

ROOTED IN CHRIST

Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to step away from exhausting work routines and gather with fellow believers. Inside the quiet sanctuary, we lift our voices in worship, listen to soul-refreshing sermons, and experience the intimate nearness of His presence. Being in a church environment often makes us feel spiritually secure because everything is conducive to our faith. However, a strong tree is not tested when the weather is calm and a gentle breeze blows, but rather when a severe storm arrives and tries to knock down every upright trunk.

Your Christianity is not enough if it merely looks attractive on the outside through religious routines visible to others; it must have roots that sink deep into hidden soil. The invisible inner life, such as your honesty when you are alone, the sincerity of your motives, and how you treat people who cannot offer you any advantage, reflects the depth of those roots. If your faith only clings to fleeting emotional surfaces, you will easily waver when facing disappointment, criticism from others, or unanswered prayers. Therefore, building a consistent personal relationship with God outside of Sunday becomes an absolute necessity to keep your soul supplied with stable strength.

In everyday practical life, you can deepen these roots by establishing a consistent morning quiet time before your phone fills up with worldly notifications. When you face family conflicts or social disagreements, choose to respond with love and humility rather than defending your ego to win. Apply the truths you heard today in how you manage your emotions, speak to your spouse, and make business decisions tomorrow. By allowing every aspect of your life to be rooted and sourced in the character of Christ, you will become resilient, unshakeable, and productive in every season of life.

Let us close this Sunday with the resolve to drive our life roots deeper into the love of Christ. Do not let the joy and peace you felt in church today wither away the moment you face the real world tomorrow. Let every word you heard become nutrition that strengthens your faith to step into the new week with victory. Have a blessed journey of becoming a deeply rooted person who brings glory to His name wherever you are!
