WISE SOCIAL MEDIA: IGNITING LIGHT IN THE DIGITAL WORLD
Every day, our thumbs are active on mobile screens, shifting from one social media app to another. We face millions of contents, ranging from entertaining and inspiring ones to comment sections full of debates, sarcasm, and slander. Amidst this digital ease, it is very simple to drift along with the crowd: typing sharp criticisms in the comment thread, sharing overly emotional statuses, or flaunting life just to gain human approval. We frequently forget that as children of God, every digital footprint we leave behind on the internet reflects the true quality of our faith and spirituality.
Our Christianity must not only be active on Sunday inside church buildings, only to turn blunt and wild the moment we hide behind social media accounts. The Bible reminds us that every word we speak must bring grace and build up those who hear itโand in this modern age, that includes every single keystroke of our thumbs. Before we upload a status, a photo, a video, or leave a comment, ask yourself: does this action glorify God's name? Does it bring peace to whoever reads it? Or are we simply acting as a channel for our fallen flesh? Let us turn our social media accounts into small pulpits radiating Christ's love, truth, and hope.
Today's Reflection Points:
1. Discipline of Fingers and Heart: Take a brief pause of a few seconds before hitting the send button whenever your emotions are triggered by someone else's content or comment on social media.
2. Becoming a Digital Blessing: Intentionally choose to share words of encouragement, Bible verses, or testimonies of God's goodness that can uplift a soul who might be desperate out there.
Let us clean our feeds and digital history from all bitterness and useless debates today. May anyone visiting your profile, reading your status, or viewing your comments sense the pleasing aroma of Christ's life. Be salt and light that are truly visible, not just in the physical world, but also in the digital realm. -TPC
