BREAKING OUT OF THE COMFORT ZONE
A king once received a gift of two young eagles and hired the finest trainer to teach them to soar through the skies. After some time, one eagle was flying majestically, while the other remained stubbornly perched on a tree branch. Every effort by animal experts failed to make it fly, until a farmer finally came along and simply cut off the branch where the bird was roosting. Having lost its comfortable foothold, the eagle finally flapped its wings and flew high.
This story serves as an accurate reflection of our spiritual lives. The comfort zone is the most subtle trap that can paralyze our faith. If we only pursue comfort and resist change, we will stop growing. Jesus Christ set the example; when crowds cheered for Him in one city, He deliberately chose to go to another city where He was not yet known to preach the Gospel. He refused to be bound to a comfort zone.
There is never any growth inside a comfort zone, and there is no comfort within growth. Do not complain when God brings you into a new arena of challenges. Flap your wings and fly with Him!
