GUARDING THE SANCTUARY OF THE HEART

GUARDING THE SANCTUARY OF THE HEART

If the heart is imagined as a mirror, take a look to see how well we truly understand the meaning of life. If the heart is a vessel, fill it to the brim with sincerity. If the heart is a window, open it wide so that the light of Christ's love can radiate outward and warm those around us. Our true life is dictated by what is stored deep within the foundation of the heart.

Indeed, there is an abundance of goodness and peace surrounding us. Yet, selfishness often blinds the eyes of our hearts, bitterness turns friends into enemies, and greed robs us of contentment, making us feel as though we are utterly impoverished. The root of all such inner suffering is not the external world out there, but the condition of our heart within. The heart is a spring; if the source is polluted, then the entire stream of life becomes filthy.

Reflection Points for Today:
- The Control Center of Life: Our thoughts, words, and daily actions are the fruit of what we allow to take root in the heart. Maintaining a clean and holy life must always begin with cleansing the chambers of the heart.
- Spiritual Breathing: Maintaining a clean heart requires discipline. When we stumble and grieve the Holy Spirit, immediately 'exhale' by confessing that sin, then 'inhale' by receiving His restoration and power once again through faith.

Do not let the poison of bitterness, excessive ambition, or anxiety ruin the peace that God has granted. Ask the Holy Spirit to continuously guard and purify your heart, so that every outflow of your life genuinely glorifies His name. -TPC

God bless you!
