THE TRUE PURITY OF THE HEART
In a social environment that often judges people solely by surface appearances, many work hard to project good deeds simply to protect their reputation or moral standing. We frequently feel secure when outwardly we commit no major crimes, break no laws, or remain polite in front of others. Yet, divine standard of truth never stops at mere external actions. There are hidden realities behind every polite smile and sweet word, such as subtle envy, suppressed anger, concealed bitterness, or the quiet drive for self-praise. Keeping outward appearances clean is far easier than keeping the inner life pure from destructive motives.
Jesus Christ firmly re-established the essence of true righteousness before those fixated purely on external rules. In God's sight, harboring inner hatred toward a neighbor carries the exact same moral weight as tangible destructive actions. The heart serves as the fountainhead for every decision, spoken word, and direction of life; from it flows the entire quality of one's real existence. When the inner self fills with bitterness or malicious intent, external acts of kindness slowly lose their true meaning. Genuine piety is never about forced compliance driven by the fear of human judgment, but rather about an inward renewal that loves holiness and justice from the deepest depths of the soul.
In daily practical life, you are called to examine your inner condition before making choices or responding to others. When friction strikes at the workplace or unfair treatment comes from someone close, do not let seeds of anger and resentment take root in your mind. Take time to approach God honestly, acknowledge every wounded feeling or disappointment, and ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse your underlying motivations. Choose to release forgiveness even before an apology arrives, and never let the poison of hatred rob your soul of genuine peace. By carefully tending to the purity of your heart, every action and word will naturally radiate a sincere, healing love to everyone around you.
