UNREADY TO BE LEFT BEHIND
Losing a loved one, being left behind without a final farewell, or facing the sudden end of life always leaves a suffocating emptiness. Many of us navigate our days assuming time is abundant, as if tomorrow is a guaranteed right. When reality slaps our awareness that life is fragile, panic strikes because we feel completely unprepared. This unpreparedness is not merely a worldly administrative issue, but a reflection of an inner condition that comfortably delays genuine repentance and obedience. God never hides the fact that His coming will not compromise human busy schedules.
Jesus' message in the Gospel of Matthew asserts that spiritual negligence is the most dangerous form of unreadiness one can harbor. Humanity often spends energy organizing worldly futures while neglecting eternal salvation and a living fellowship with God. Being ready does not mean living in paranoid fear, but maintaining moral integrity and faith every single second as if today is the ultimate limit. Delaying repentance is a form of spiritual arrogance that takes God's patience for granted.
The periods of waiting in this world demand tangible perseverance, not merely theological theories memorized in the head. Those who are ready to be left behind or to welcome their Lord are those who live out practical holiness and active love toward others in these very days. There is no room to slack off when the eternal call can happen at any moment without prior warning.
Today's Reflection Points:
- Fragile Time: Re-evaluate to what extent your life is controlled by fleeting busyness rather than spiritual readiness before God.
- Daily Obedience: Make today a moment to straighten your relationship with God and others without delaying until tomorrow.
Let us release ourselves from the illusion that time on earth is entirely within the control of our planning. May our worldly unreadiness be transformed by His grace into a living and fruitful spiritual alertness. God calls us not to live in anxiety, but in the quietness of faith that constantly watches and waits for His coming.
God bless you!
