MORE ARE WITH US
Panic often takes over human common sense when troubles come unannounced. People tend to look through natural eyes, count depleting resources, and magnify the size of approaching enemies. The experience of facing life pressures makes one feel alone in an unbalanced battlefield. Prophet Elijah and his servant were in Dothan when the Aramean army besieged them with horses and chariots. The servant panicked terribly upon realizing their city was completely surrounded by superior military forces. Yet, Elijah's calmness dismantled the worldly mindset trapped in futile despair.
Elijah's response was not to comfort his servant with empty words, but to pray that the young man's spiritual eyes be opened. Man's greatest problem is not external pressure, but spiritual blindness toward God's sovereign reality. When God opened the servant's eyes, he saw the hills filled with horses and chariots of fire from heaven surrounding Elijah. This spiritual reality never changes even when physical eyes fail to catch it amid crisis storms. God never forsakes His people, and heavenly hosts far outweigh all dark forces on earth.
This truth calls every believer to stop measuring situations based on worldly fear. When bills pile up, relationships break, or the future looks dim, God remains in absolute control of human history. Relying on the eyes of faith means trusting that God's presence is an impenetrable fortress against any circumstance. True calm is born from the certainty that the Creator of the universe stands with those who trust Him.
