ONLY UNDERSTAND THE BEAUTIFUL
We often force our tiny brains to map out God's entire plan as if He were a project manager required to report daily progress to us. Once life runs smoothly, businesses thrive, and families stay healthy, we quickly applaud and declare that God is good and amazingly wonderful. Yet, the moment a layoff storm hits, medical reports bring heavy verdicts, or a wedding plan collapses, our tongues suddenly tie and we begin questioning His justice. The problem is not what God is doing, but the capacity of our skulls which is truly limited to grasp His eternal scheme. Solomon wrote very honestly that God makes everything beautiful in its time, but humans can never fathom the entirety of His work from beginning to end. We are merely spectators in the third act of a cosmic drama whose Director works behind the dark scenes.
The desire to always 'understand' is a congenital disease of fallen humanity wanting to equalize status with the Creator. We demand that suffering must have an instant logical explanation today, as if the Christian faith is a precise mathematical formula. In reality, Christianity calls us to lean on God's character when our logic hits a dead end and crashes into a thick wall. The word 'beautiful' in the original text does not merely mean aesthetic or pleasing to the eye, but timely and harmonious in His grand orchestration, even when the notes played right now sound discordant to our ears. God never owes us an explanation as to why He allows tears, but He has given His Son as a guarantee that His intentions toward us always bring ultimate good.
The best attitude in the face of the mystery of God's sovereignty is not pretense of knowledge, but bowing in complete humility. When we stop demanding explanations and begin accepting the limits of human reason, true inner peace takes over our chests. Stop being frustrated because there are many things in recent years whose beginnings and ends you cannot explain. Hand over that burden of understanding to the Owner of History who sees the end of the road while we are still fumbling through the first kilometer.
Today's Reflection Points:
- Acknowledging Limits: Stop forcing yourself to find logical answers for every pain and life test God permits to happen.
- Trusting in Darkness: Training the heart to hold fast to God's goodness even when life's scenario runs beyond our imagination and reason.
Let us learn to release our grip on the illusion of control that has long exhausted our shoulders and souls. Let God guide our steps through the dark hallways of personal history with full assurance of His love. At the end of the road, we will understand that not a single teardrop was wasted in His sight. God bless your faith journey today!
