"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."
FAITH THAT REACHES CHRIST
For twelve long years, a woman suffered from chronic bleeding—a condition that not only drained her financial resources on useless treatments but also cut her off from community and worship. In the eyes of her society, she was a hopeless outcast, deemed unclean and forgotten. Yet, when word reached her that Jesus was passing by, a spark of hope flared in her soul. Her conviction was remarkably simple yet profoundly deep: she did not demand public attention or a dramatic word from Jesus; she only wanted to reach Him.
Matthew 9:21 records her internal declaration of faith: 'For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.' To this woman, the fringe of Jesus' cloak was not a magical amulet, but the physical point of contact between her broken reality and Christ's limitless power. Amidst a massive crowd pressing in on Jesus from all sides, she was the only one who truly touched Him with faith. Jesus instantly felt power leave Him, proving that Christ is always highly sensitive to the touch of humble, desperate trust.
Often, we find ourselves close to Christ in the routine of our religious habits, yet we must ask: are we actually reaching out and touching Him in faith? When we feel exhausted, broken, isolated, or spiritually dry, we must not let shame or despair paralyze us. Come to Him exactly as you are. A single touch of faith is enough to restore not just our bodies, but our dignity and our very souls.
Reflection Points for Today:
- Courageous Step: Break through your fears and approach Christ with a raw, honest hunger for His presence.
- True Restoration: Trust that Christ's power has not diminished; He is fully able to restore even the most shattered areas of your life.
We are not restored because of our own strength or worthiness, but solely by His overflowing grace. Christ never rejects a broken and contrite heart that thirsts for Him. Bring your heavy burdens and silent struggles to His feet today. His power and love are more than enough to turn your deepest despair into a beautiful testimony of His glory. Keep believing and hold fast to His promise of restoration!
May the Lord Jesus bless you!
