GIVING FROM A WILLING HEART

Before they ever took a step as liberated slaves, God moved the hearts of the Egyptians to bestow upon them gold, silver, and fine linens. The wealth they carried across the desert sands was not gained by their own strength, but was God's preemptive grace going before them. When the Lord requested Moses to gather an offering for the Tabernacle, He did not demand a forced tax. God sought only the gifts from those whose hearts were moved willingly. The construction of His dwelling place among His people was never funded by compulsion, but fueled by a joyful response of love.

Learning to offer our best—whether in resources, time, or energy—is an essential exercise of faith that frees us from the grip of anxiety. When we fix our gaze upon the cross of Christ, where God offered His absolute best for us, our fearful calculations begin to melt away. We no longer give to bargain for blessings; we give because we realize we are already profoundly loved, fully redeemed, and abundantly held.
