GOD WHO PRESERVES US

Passage: 'And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.' – 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

There is a weariness that eight hours of sleep cannot cure. Too often, we feel fragmented inside: our minds wander endlessly, our bodies ache from relentless demands, and our spirits feel lonely even in a crowded room. We strain ourselves to hold our lives together, only to realize how fragile our own hands are against the cracks of human weakness.

The Apostle Paul understood this vulnerability well when writing to the church in Thessalonica. Yet, instead of burdening them with a heavy list of moral duties, he directed their gaze to 'the very God of peace'. This passage frames holiness not as a human achievement, but as God's complete sanctifying work encompassing spirit, soul, and body. Our security rests not on how tightly we hold onto God, but on the character of the One who calls us: He is faithful.

True peace begins when we stop playing the savior of our own lives. When anxiety creeps into your thoughts or physical strength fades, remember that God claims your entire being as His own. He does not merely forgive our past mistakes; He actively guards our spiritual and physical integrity today until the coming of Christ.
