SEEKING HEART NOT BUSYNESS

In the midst of a busy church routine, we often fall into the trap of assuming that the more responsibilities we hold, the higher our spirituality must be. We become so occupied with preparing events, serving in teams, or managing ministry schedules that we forget to enjoy the presence of Christ Himself. Busy ministry may look beautiful and noble in human eyes, but unnoticed, spiritual fatigue can gradually erode our first love for God.

The story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10 teaches us a profound truth. Martha was not doing anything evil; she was earnestly serving Jesus with hospitality. However, her heart was distracted and troubled because her focus shifted from the Person of Jesus to the work of ministry itself. On the other hand, Mary chose to sit at Jesus' feet and listen to His word. Jesus affirmed that intimacy with Him is the essential thing needed, which should never be replaced by any activity, no matter how great the ministry is.

True spirituality is never measured by how full our ministry calendar is, but by how deep our personal relationship with God is. Healthy ministry must flow out of the abundance of our communion with Christ, not out of a desire to prove ourselves or seek approval. When we prioritize sitting quietly at His feet, we receive true strength, wisdom, and pure love to serve without losing our joy.

- Quiet Time: Set aside dedicated time each day to sit quietly listening to God's word without being distracted by work or ministry duties.

Ministry without intimacy with Christ will only lead to spiritual burnout. God does not seek our working efficiency, but the longing of our heart to abide in Him. Do not let the busyness of serving Christ make you lose Christ Himself. Let us return to making personal fellowship with Him the center of our whole life. In His presence, we find true refreshment and the real purpose of ministry.
