VICTORY OVER TEMPTATION

We live in a world broken by sin, making temptation an inescapable reality as long as we have breath in our lungs. From the urge to retaliate when wronged, to the pull of unholy passions, and the temptation to take ethical shortcuts, these pressures confront us daily. Many Christians ultimately stumble and shame the name of the Lord because they are overconfident, falsely believing they are strong enough to play with fire without getting burned.

God never promised that believers would be immune to temptation. However, Scripture offers a staggering guarantee: God will never permit us to be tempted beyond our capacity. At the very nadir of our struggle, when we feel ready to yield to a persistent sin, God quietly provides a hidden escape route. Sadly, we often ignore this exit because our flesh secretly delights in the temporary thrill of transgression.

Today's Scripture Passage:
'No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.' – 1 Corinthians 10:13

Daily Reflection Points:
1. Spiritual Vigilance: Temptation itself is a shared human reality, but entertaining and nursing that temptation in your mind is the first step toward ruin. Run away before the trap takes deep root.
2. God Provides an Exit: If you stumble, do not blame God, for He has prepared an emergency door. Know your own weaknesses and steer clear of places or situations that trigger your downfall.

Let us navigate today with sober self-awareness. Never lean on your own understanding or moral strength. Ask the Holy Spirit for protection and power every morning, so you are enabled to say 'no' to sin and walk steadily in holiness. -TPC
