NO NEED TO PANIC

Yet one harsh reality remains: panic has never once produced a solution. Instead, it only muddies the waters and drags us deeper into even worse trouble.

Let us cast our minds back to the disciples tossed about on the stormy sea. When the gale-force winds raged and the waves began swamping the boat, sheer panic robbed them of their common sense. Fear drowned out their faith to the point of outright frustration, even though the Lord Jesus was right there in the boat with them. The Lord never intends for us to react through panicked fits. Hasty moves born of raw terror will only lead us to poor choices. Calmness is the fundamental key that restores clarity to our reasoning.

If today you find yourself cornered by looming threats or unsettling worries, do not let fear take the driver's seat. Jesus left us this steady reminder, 'Do not be afraid; just believe.'
