OBEDIENCE THAT BRINGS A MIRACLE
Exhaustion often arrives quietly, settling into the bones after months or years of honest labor that yields no tangible fruit. You have worked with integrity, served with devotion, and tried your absolute best, yet the ledger of your life still reads zero, tempting you to fold your hands and walk away in despair.
Peter knew this exact weight. As a seasoned fisherman who understood the waters of Galilee better than anyone, he had spent an entire night wrestling with his nets and caught precisely nothing. When Jesus—a traveling teacher, not a fisherman—told him to cast his nets back out into the glaring heat of midday, human logic screamed that it was a waste of time. Yet, at the very edge of his burnout, Peter chose to bypass his own expertise and anchor his actions in the explicit word of Christ. The result was staggering: nets straining and tearing under a mass of fish so great it required two boats.
Today, if the Holy Spirit is nudging you to do something that defies your rational calculation—whether it is extending an awkward forgiveness, investing relentless kindness in a broken relationship, or simply showing up to do your daily work with renewed faithfulness—then do it. Stop staring at the impossibility of the circumstance and fix your eyes on the authority of the One who issued the command.
