GOD RULES, WE DO NOT
Human life often resembles a revolving wheel; at times we sit atop a magnificent hill, while at other moments we must descend into a steep valley. During seasons of golden abundance, life feels sweet and careers progress without obstacles. Yet when God permits a storm to shake our foundations and we face a sudden decline, we frequently lose control, grumble, and begin pointing fingers at God. Human nature naturally gravitates toward permanent ease and upward mobility. However, if we were continually spoon-fed uninterrupted comfort, we would quickly slip into spiritual arrogance. We would forget to bend our knees in prayer, neglect true worship, and eventually erase the fundamental truth that God holds absolute sovereignty over our existence. A descent does not inherently mean complete ruin, nor does an ascent guarantee moral excellence, if both experiences ultimately sever our hearts from the Creator. Jeremiah honestly acknowledged before God that human beings lack the innate power to dictate their own paths or establish their final steps. Accepting divine sovereignty means refusing to micro-manage God regarding the precise trajectory of our lives, trusting that He leads us through every season for our ultimate good. We must refuse the habit of seeking God only during moments of crisis while forgetting Him during times of blessing. A steadfast heart relies on the Creator consistently, whether in deep abundance or stark scarcity. Whatever current reality you face today, prepare an open and grateful heart to let our loving God guide your daily steps without entertaining cynical doubts about His flawless design.
