CHASE TRUTH SO YOUR LABOR IS NOT IN VAIN
A familiar parable tells of a watchmaker who rejected his young son's invitation to take a vacation, excusing himself because he wanted to craft the ultimate timepiece as a gift. The father locked himself in his workshop day and night, neglecting his son's formative years. He missed graduations, weddings, and the birth of his grandchildren. When the grand clock was finally completed and presented, he was shocked to discover that the child of his memories had grown old. Even though he woke up realizing it was only a nightmare, the moral is unmistakable: Do not trade what matters most in life for fleeting ambition.
Many believers navigate life chasing worldly achievementsโcareers, wealth, or even ecclesiastical successโwhile losing the core essence of their faith. If we misalign our foundation and life goals, all our sweat and toil will ultimately result in vanity. Scripture reminds us that life only acquires eternal significance when lived in the fear of God and complete surrender to His sovereign will.
Examine your priorities today. Invest your time and attention into the things of ultimate value. Walk in the fear of the Lord, knowing that every deed will ultimately be brought into judgment before Him.
