PURSUING ETERNAL VALUE

Every human being on the face of this earth has undoubtedly experienced the ebb and flow of life's dynamics. In facing these waves, we are not only required to be strong and resilient, but we are often swept away by the current to constantly fight just for survival. We work hard, sacrifice time, drain our energy, and spend everything to attain the social status and positions that others desire.

Yet, amid this frantic struggle, not a few end up losing their identity and forgetting the very essence of life itself. We often forget that one day, this physical body will return to dust, regardless of whether someone was an emperor, a high-ranking official, or an ordinary citizen. How tragic it would be if we felt we had achieved financial prosperity in this world, only to realize that our souls were experiencing a profound spiritual famine and thirst.

Scripture reminds us that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Do not let the pursuit of physical necessities hinder us from feeding our spirit and soul. Setting our sights on eternity does not mean we ignore our earthly responsibilities; rather, it means we stop fighting blindly for what is fleeting and instead place the Kingdom of God as our primary foundation.

We came into this world with nothing, and we will leave it with nothing. Evaluate this honestly: out of all the things you have chased and fought for with sweat in the past, how many truly possess eternal value?

Ready to embark on another faith journey with God's Word in the new cycle?

To ensure your quiet time and Bible reading bring maximum spiritual growth, apply these 4 simple steps:

1. Start with Prayer: Before reading, take 1 minute to pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to soften your heart and open your mind to receive God's message today.
2. Give Your Prime Time: The best time is usually in the early morning before work, or at night before bed. Avoid rushed reading.
3. Reflect & Personalize: Do not just skim. Ask yourself: "What correction, comfort, or command does God want me to obey today through this passage?"
4. Put It into Action: God's Word comes alive when practiced. Choose one small reflection point today and apply it in your words, thoughts, or deeds.

Unsure what to write in your reflection column? Follow this simple T.H.E.O framework:

• T (Text / Key Verse): Write down 1 sentence or verse from today's reading that touches or challenges you most.
• H (Heart Check / Condition): Examine and write down how your heart responds after reading the scripture.
• E (Execution / Action): Write a concrete action you will take today in obedience to the Word.
• O (Offering Prayer / Surrender): Write a short prayer dedicating your efforts and asking for the Holy Spirit's strength.
