DO NOT MISS THE MEANING OF HIS PRESENCE
Every time the season of Christ's birth arrives, the world becomes overwhelmingly busy with flashing lights, festive decorations, and roaring celebrations. Ironically, amid this frantic whirlwind of activities, many believers manage to miss the essential meaning of the incarnation. History and Scripture reveal various groups of people who completely overlooked the priceless moment when Christ entered the world.
First, the innkeeper missed the presence of the Savior due to sheer busyness; there was simply no room left in his establishment or in his heart. Second, the scribes in Jerusalem missed Him out of sheer indifference and a cold, rigid adherence to religious rituals. Third, the Romans missed Him because they were utterly blinded by the idolatry of political power and human arrogance. Most tragically, the people of Nazareth rejected Jesus out of sheer familiarity, which dulled their spiritual hearts and caused them to despise the grace standing right before their eyes.
Do not let the frantic noise of this world rob you of your spiritual sensitivity. Carve out a quiet, still space in your heart to welcome and meditate on the presence of Christ, not just during seasonal festivities, but in every single breath of your life.
