SWIMMING AGAINST THE STREAM
There is a very simple law of nature: only dead fish float passively downstream. On the other hand, a living fish—no matter how small—will always fight to swim against the rushing current. Being a follower of Christ in these last days demands an extra measure of courage to remain a 'living fish.' The world today continually offers standards of morality that are steadily eroding. Things once considered taboo and sinful are now normalized and treated as commonplace. This is where our integrity is tested. If everyone around us is engaging in dishonesty, will we join in just to feel safe? If infidelity and deceit are treated as open secrets, will we allow ourselves to be dragged along by that current? To be different for the sake of truth has never felt comfortable. You might be considered strange, overly pious, or even ostracized, but remember that salt is only useful when it imparts a distinct flavor. Never mortgage your spiritual integrity for social acceptance. The light of Christ only proves its function when it dares to shine in the darkest places. Have the courage to say 'no' to moral compromise, even when the whole world shouts 'yes.' Hold fast to your true identity, for the approval of God is infinitely more valuable than fleeting human popularity.
