THE MYSTERY OF TOMORROW
Knowing what lies ahead is one of humanity's greatest desires. It is no surprise that many people resort to various methods, ranging from reading horoscopes to visiting fortune tellers, just to lift the veil of tomorrow. Each of us naturally hopes for a brilliant future. Yet, no matter how hard we try, tomorrow remains a mystery held securely within divine sovereignty.
The Bible records several instances where God revealed a portion of the future to mankind, only for it to be handled foolishly. When King Hezekiah was told his life would be extended, he squandered that grace through pride. Likewise, when King Saul was informed that his throne would pass to another, he spent the rest of his life in bitter hatred fighting against that decree. As finite human beings, we simply lack the capacity to properly handle information about tomorrow, whether it brings bad news or good news.
Our security does not rest on how thoroughly we map out tomorrow, but on how tightly we hold onto the hand of God who governs tomorrow. Even when the path ahead looks foggy, His everlasting hand is a sure guide. Our task is not to forecast the future, but to walk in obedience day by day.
Do not let the unknown future trap you in a life of fear. Surrender the steering wheel of your life completely into God's hands. His plans are filled with peace, and any hope anchored in Him will never end in disappointment.
