BEWARE OF THE 'PRISON' OF THE PAST
In this world, countless individuals walk around physically free, yet their souls reside within a dark, confining prison cell. The name of that prison is the 'Past'. Some are locked behind the bars of lingering guilt over past sins that continue to haunt them, while others are bound by bitterness and resentment resulting from the cruel treatment of others. The evil one delights in replaying the audio-cassette of our former failures and histories. He constantly whispers accusations that we are defiled, unworthy of serving God, and entirely without a future. The adversary wants our necks perpetually turned backward so that we can no longer run toward the finish line. Yet, the Word of God affirms that when we approach Him with true repentance, the Lord Jesus not only forgives but actively forgets our sins. If the Supreme Judge of the universe has cleansed and forgotten your sin, on what grounds do you continue to drag it up and punish yourself? The past is a classroom designed to teach us wisdom, not a dwelling place meant for us to occupy. Stop allowing yesterday to rob you of the joy God has prepared for today. The power of Christ's blood is more than sufficient to wash away every stain of your life. Step out of that prison of the past, take a deep breath of true freedom in His grace, and begin weaving a brand-new future alongside God.
