CHRIST AS THE ULTIMATE FOUNDATION
After evaluating the various dimensions of life throughout this past week—ranging from the assurance of salvation and our approach to labor to our relationships with others—we are forced to arrive at a sobering conclusion. Relying solely on our own human strength, moral resolve, and patience will never be enough. All of these human resources possess strict limits where exhaustion eventually sets in and we want to throw in the towel.
We desperately need a daily supply of fresh love, wisdom, and forgiveness from the Holy Spirit to properly execute our roles in this world. When we place the Lord Jesus as the absolute foundation and primary purpose of our careers and families, no storm in life will possess the structural integrity to knock it down. Let us bring our entire lives, work, and households to the altar of worship today. Surrender every anxiety and fatigue to God, and allow His word to renew our momentum as we step into the new week with complete confidence in His sustaining presence.
