LIFE IS AN OPPORTUNITY
As the year draws to a close, taking a moment to step back and reflect is not just a healthy habit, it is a spiritual necessity. The Psalmist reminds us that human life is strikingly briefโseventy or eighty years at bestโvanishing as quickly as a dream that fades in the morning light. We rarely pause to realize that a day spent, once gone, can never be relived. Many people drift through their decades without intentionality, squandering time on trivial pursuits until old age brings nothing but the heavy burden of regret. The window we have in this physical world is profoundly narrow, making every sunrise an unmerited gift of breath, health, and sustaining grace. Recognizing the sheer frailty of our existence ought to drive us to seek divine wisdom, teaching us to account for our days properly and invest the remainder of our breath into becoming a channel of grace to others. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 90:12, 'So teach us to number our days, that we may present to you a heart of wisdom.' This means two critical things for our daily walk: first, we must stop postponing repentance and acts of goodness, because hesitation is a luxury the dead do not possess. Second, we must labor diligently while it is still day, pouring our best efforts, skills, and stewardship into works that bring glory to God. Let us grasp the sobering reality of our brief earthly tenure and steward every single appointment entrusted to our hands with reverence and urgency. Close this chapter of your life by leaving behind a legacy of steadfast love and integrity among your family, friends, and colleagues. God bless you.
