ANCHORING YOUR FAITH LIKE ROOTS GRASPING A SOLID ROCK
A massive tree will not easily fall even when battered by fierce gales and violent hurricanes, as long as its roots plunge and grip firmly into the earth. The same principle applies to our spiritual structure. If the foundation of our faith clings tightly to the truth of God's word, no matter how severe the economic trials or domestic storms that hit us, our lives will not be shaken.
We must constantly realize that human strength and cleverness have limits. There will always be unexpected situations happening beyond our control. If we hang our hope and happiness on human promises, we will swallow the bitter pill of disappointment, because people can change and break their word. Let us draw a lesson of faith from Mary. As a young woman, she faced a very heavy plan from God: risking the loss of her reputation, facing the danger of being divorced, and even fleeing to Egypt like a fugitive. Yet, her solid faith caused her to respond with total obedience and thanksgiving, not with weeping or despair.
Plant your faith roots deep into His word every day. The God who guided Mary and saved her is the same God who will never let you be ruined. Stay strong in the Lord, in the strength of His power!
