STOP LOOKING AT THE 'NEIGHBOR'S LAWN'
In the current era of social media dominance, we are frequently struck by a heavy and worthless feeling the moment we open our device screens. We see posts about a friend who just received a prestigious job promotion, someone showing off a brand-new car, or a family vacation portrait that looks utterly flawless. Without us realizing it, the sense of gratitude inside our chest slowly evaporates, replaced by insecurity and a suffocating fog of envy.
Often we forget one highly critical psychological reality: Social media is merely an exhibition stage, not an accurate reflection of real life as a whole. People generally only publish the highlight reels of their lives. They hide the sweat, tears, arguments, and piles of debt behind the scenes. Comparing our lives to someone else's exhibition stage is the cruelest thief of joy.
Today's Reflection Points:
- Different Running Lanes: God the Creator has designed you with a uniqueness in talents, challenges, and a finishing line entirely different from anyone else. You are racing against no one except your past self.
- Tending Your Own Work: If the neighbor's lawn looks greener, it is solely because they are watering it. Shift your energy to watering and nurturing the 'grass' in your own courtyard of life.
Stop peeking and comparing lives through social media screens. Begin to thank God for the work you currently possess, cherish the family accompanying you, and fulfill every responsibility with complete faithfulness. -TPC
