CARRYING THE CROSS DAILY

Modern Christianity is frequently packaged with comfortable promises: boundless blessings, effortless healing miracles, and uninterrupted success. While God's goodness and provision are undeniably real, we must not ignore the absolute condition Jesus laid down for His true followers. Authentic Christianity demands a heavy, uncompromising sacrifice that runs entirely counter to our human nature. Taking up the cross is certainly not about wearing a decorative golden cross necklace around our neck. Instead, it speaks of a radical decision to deny oneselfโ€”making a deliberate choice to say 'no' to our ego, selfish passions, and personal ambitions in order to execute God's will. Embracing the cross means we must be prepared to lose our social standing, face isolation, or even endure slander simply because we refuse to compromise with sin. The cross is, by definition, an instrument of death. Before we can ever experience the resurrection life and victory of Christ, our 'old self'โ€”with all its pride and bitter desire for retaliationโ€”must be put to death upon that very cross. Ketaatan is never a one-time event, but rather a continuous, daily process. If your cross feels overwhelmingly heavy today, whether through demanding ethical pressures at your workplace or living alongside a difficult spouse, never discard it. God never assigns a burden beyond your God-given capacity to bear. There is no glory without suffering, and there is no crown without a cross. Carry your portion with resilient spiritual integrity, knowing that an eternal crown of life awaits behind your daily obedience.
